Fall Color Submission Guidelines for The Traveler

Thank you for your interest in our fourth annual fall color special series issue of The Traveler.

Throughout the fall color season I publish links, photos, and updates on the autumn color through the end of October. I am now accepting photo submissions, link suggestions, stories, and regional update reports.

Please submit your digital photos in jpeg format at a 72 dpi resolution if possible. I will re-size, crop, and optimize your photos for the internet. If you know how to do this, feel free to do so before sending the photos to me, but don’t worry too much if you’re not sure.

If you are scanning from a slide or negative, please make sure that you use a photo scanner, or that your pictures are properly cropped and aligned. I can’t accept photos that are not properly scanned.

What am I looking for? Fall Color! This issue focuses primarily on North American foliage, but I’d be happy to look at great shots of autumn color from anywhere in the world. I’m looking for the “essence” of fall.

Check out a previous fall color photo album to see the kind of photography we like at the Traveler (if you’re  still on a dailup connection, please be patient).

All published photos will include a byline and link back to your own site or blog (or the site of your choice).

In all cases however, thank you for your interest in helping me capture the spirit of autumn in the Traveler.
